The HydraFacial combines 4 treatments – exfoliation, extraction, hydration and infusion – into one highly effective anti-aging and skin clarifying and resurfacing procedure.
Because the HydraFacial is a new and exciting technology, many of our Bend, OR patients don’t know much about it. So, in the article, the skin care experts at Renew Esthetics in Bend, OR answer our patients’ most frequently asked questions about HydraFacials.
What is a HydraFacial?
A HydraFacial is a state-of-the-art, non-invasive skin care technology that combines several procedures into one incredible treatment, by harnessing the power of water.
The HydraFacial uses a spiral designed tip, in conjunction with proprietary vacuum technology and specialized serums, to create a “vortex.” This circular motion combined with gentle but powerful suction dislodges and removes impurities, exfoliates and resurfaces the skin. Simultaneously, the infusion technology delivers intense moisturizers for hydration, and antioxidants and peptides for glowing skin.
What skin issues can the HydraFacial treat?
HydraFacial’s deep, painless extraction process is extremely beneficial for removing blackheads & whiteheads, reducing enlarged pores, clearing congested pores, and reducing acne breakouts.
The exfoliation component of HydraFacial is ideal for minimizing wrinkles, fine lines, as well as evening skin tone and reducing hyper-pigmentation, sun damage, and brown spots.
And the hydration and infusion process moisturize dry skin, and nourish the skin’s surface – for radiant, glowing, healthy skin.
What are the benefits of HydraFacial?
Unlike laser skin resurfacing treatments, the HydraFacial is painless – as well as safe for all skin type and tones. While many lasers and chemical peels cannot be used on sensitive skin or darker skin tones, the HydraFacial can be used on tanned or dark skin, as well as on even the most sensitive skin, including skin with rosacea or broken capillaries.
Additionally, there is no irritation, downtime or recovery period after a HydraFacial, like there is with laser resurfacing or chemical peels.
Does the HydraFacial treatment hurt?
Not at all. Many of our Bend, OR patients find the HydraFacial relaxing and rejuvenation, while some patients have described it as feeling somewhat like a cat’s tongue!
How long does a HydraFacial take?
Because the HydraFacial simultaneously performs four skin care treatments – exfoliation, extraction, hydration and infusion – during a single procedure, it is faster than many other appointments. The typical HydraFacial only takes about 30 minutes in our Bend, OR Med Spa!
Is there any down time after a HydraFacial?
Because a HydraFacial resurfaces skin without harsh chemicals or lasers, there is no skin irritation and no downtime. In fact, many patients have the procedure on their lunch hour, and return to work or daily activities immediately afterwards. Patients can even apply make-up or work out immediately!
However, sun protection after a HydraFacial is essential. We will apply a sunscreen after your treatment, but we highly recommend that you wear a minimum of a 30 SPF sunscreen daily, to protect the fresh new skin from the sun’s damaging UV rays.
Can I have a HydraFacial if I Use Botox or Dermal Fillers?
Yes, but you should wait a minimum of 10 to 14 days after Botox or dermal filler injections before receiving a HydraFacial – so that the pressure of the HydraFacial does not displace your Botox or fillers.
When will I see HydraFacial results?
Dramatic results will typically be visible immediately after your first HydraFacial – because the dead skin cells, oil, sebum and debris have been removed and the fresh, healthy skin beneath is revealed. Depending upon the starting condition of your skin, you should see noticeably smoothed texture, more even tone, and improved plumpness and hydration in just one session.
