CoolTone™ Is here!

What is CoolTone?

CoolTone is an amazing technology designed to strengthen, tone, and firm your muscles in 30 minutes or less in a way you could never accomplish in a single gym session. At Renew Esthetics & Med Spa, Redmond’s premier med spa, we know how busy life can get, and how easy it is for life to interfere with our ability to prioritize our physical health. Whether you’re a gym rat or haven’t stepped foot in a gym in years but need to strengthen your muscles to meet life’s basic demands, CoolTone may be the body-strengthening solution you’ve been looking for.

How Does CoolTone Work?

CoolTone uses a technology called magnetic muscle stimulation, or MMS. An applicator(s) is placed on your abdomen, thighs, or buttocks, causing your muscles to involuntary contract for anywhere from 20-30 minutes. It’s non-invasive, FDA-cleared, and there’s little to no downtime. At Renew, we love that clients don’t leave feeling sore from lactic build-up, but instead feel as though their muscles are tighter and firmer, and overall feel stronger and more confident!

The powerful MMS technology delivered via the CoolTone applicators bypasses skin, nerves, and fat layers to penetrate deep into your muscle layers. The magnetic waves basically shoot electromagnetic energy to strengthen the muscle fibers by inducing involuntary and powerful contractions than you could ever achieve by yourself. The state-of-the-art system features liquid-cooled applicators which deliver about 20,000 muscle contractions similar to 20,000 sit-ups or 20,000 squats, all in 30 minutes or less. After a series of treatments, you’re going to feel stronger, firmer, and more toned in your abdomen, thighs, or buttocks. And the coolest part? You won’t feel sore after your CoolTone session like you would after actually doing 20,000 reps in the gym! Your muscles may feel fatigued, but your CoolTone session uses a series of tapping in order to prevent the buildup of lactic acid.

CoolTone + CoolSculpting Elite = Maximum Results

Both CoolTone and CoolSculpting Elite, our newest CoolSculpting technology, can be done independently as stand-alone treatments. However, depending on your goals, CoolTone and CoolSculpting Elite combined can maximize your desired results, and both can be done during one visit to our office. We do CoolSculpting Elite first to remove fat from the desired area via precisely controlled cooling, followed by CoolTone to boost muscle strength and definition via an insane amount of involuntary muscle contractions (about 20,000 in under 30 minutes!), resulting in greater fat-burning and body-contouring. Is it magic? Nahh, it’s science!

Remember your CoolSculpting Elite results will last a lifetime as long as you maintain your weight, however think of CoolTone like a gym work out, if you don’t keep doing it, you’ll have muscle atrophy. We find coming in for 6-8 sessions initially and then doing maintenance treatments keeps our clients feeling and looking their best for the long haul.

The Top CoolTone Provider in Redmond

Muscle tone? Meet CoolTone at Renew Esthetics & Med Spa. For men and women looking to strengthen and tone, CoolTone is FDA-cleared to tone, firm, and strengthen the stomach, thighs, and buttocks. It should be noted that CoolTone is not a weight-loss procedure, nor is it a fat-reducing treatment like CoolSculpting Elite. CoolTone works by boosting muscle definition and mass, leading to greater fat-burning and contouring, and focuses on strengthening, firming, and tightening the abdominal, thigh, and buttock muscles. CoolTone can absolutely be done as a stand-alone treatment; however, many of our patients opt for both CoolSculpting Elite AND CoolTone for the best results.  If toning muscles and building strength is your goal, our team is ready to answer your questions during a  consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Need to Know More About CoolTone? Here’s answers to some of the most frequently asked questions!

How is CoolTone different from CoolSculpting Elite?

Both technologies are manufactured by Allergan, and proudly offered at Renew Esthetics & Med Spa, and all are FDA-cleared, safe, effective, non-invasive, and non-surgical. CoolTone boosts muscle definition mass, leading to greater fat-burning and contouring by causing involuntary muscle contractions (up to 20,000 in less than 30 minutes!), and while “Cool” is in the name, there’s no freezing involved. On the other hand, CoolSculpting Elite uses controlled cooling to freeze unwanted fat cells into dead, crystallized fat cells which your body then naturally eliminates. CoolSculpting Elite is simply the most updated version of CoolSculpting, and is designed to deliver quicker, more amplified results. CoolTone and CoolSculpting Elite can be done independently of each other, but they do work beautifully when combined for maximum results for anyone looking for fat-reduction AND muscle-toning, strengthen, and firming!

Can I do both CoolSculpting AND CoolTone?

Yes, absolutely! You can absolutely do CoolSculpting and CoolTone as back-to-back treatments for best results. We do CoolSculpting first to remove fat, followed by CoolTone for muscle strength and definition. Your treatment plan will depend on your goals, your body, and your budget. We invite you in to explore the power of both CoolSculpting Elite and CoolTone.

How many CoolTone sessions will I need?

That depends entirely on your body, your goals and your budget, but with CoolTone, the best results are achieved with multiple sessions. At Renew, we require commitment to 6 treatments up front, and then at least quarterly maintenance.  We work hard to set realistic expectations and when you come in for a consult we will ensure everyone is on the same page so we can achieve your desired outcomes.

Does CoolTone help with weight loss?

No. CoolTone is about tightening, firming, and strengthening the muscles in your stomach, thighs, and butt. CoolSculpting Elite, while, not a weight-loss treatment,  will visibly reduce fat in the treated areas by about 20%.

Will I visually see a difference with CoolTone?

Some patients do see muscle definition improvement, but most people do not see visual changes because of the layer of fat on top of the muscle. We do consistently hear from our clients that they feel stronger, more toned, and firmer in the areas we treat with CoolTone, even after a single session, and they are enthusiastic about continuing with the treatment plan to maintain that feeling.

Are there other benefits to CoolTone?

Other than feeling stronger, more toned, and firmer in the area treated with CoolTone? Yes, there can be! Our clients often report they have reduced back and sciatic pain, and a reduction in other general aches and pains. When your muscles are stronger, the rest of you benefits, physically and mentally!

What does CoolTone feel like?

CoolTone can be described as intense squat or abdominal crunch. On many occasions, we see our clients laugh or smile for the initial few minutes as it feels foreign to have their muscles contract involuntarily. The device has the ability to utilize different settings and during your session, you are encouraged to communicate with the technician, so it is always a comfortable experience for you. By the end of the treatment, you will be used to the sensation and as soon as the treatment is done you will definitely know your muscles were worked!

Will I be sore after my CoolTone session?

No, not likely! You can resume normal activity immediately after your CoolTone session. The treatment session includes a series of tapping to prevent the buildup of lactic acid. The next day, your muscles may feel fatigued and tired, but you will not feel sore.

How can I enhance my CoolTone results?

CoolTone is like the gym - when you use it, you gain muscle; when you stop, your progress does too, and your muscles begin to atrophy. To enhance CoolTone results, you’ll need to get to your baseline and then commit to regular treatments (monthly is best; quarterly at least) to keep the results you love.

What are the side effects of CoolTone?

Common side effects may include, but may not be limited to, muscular pain, temporary muscle spasm, temporary joint or tendon pain, and redness at or near the treatment site.

Who should NOT get CoolTone?

CoolTone is not for everyone. For example, you should not have CoolTone treatment in areas with metal, electrical, or electronic implants/devices should not be used over a menstruating uterus, over areas of the skin that lack normal sensation, in patients with fever, malignant tumor, hemorrhagic conditions, epilepsy, recent surgical procedure, pulmonary insufficiency, or pregnancy. During your complimentary consultation, it’s important to be open with your Renew team about your medical history so they can advise on whether CoolTone is right for you!
