CoolSculpting

What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is an amazing body contouring technology that reduces fat by literally freezing it away! Even with a healthy lifestyle, both men and women have parts of the body that can be non-responsive to diet and exercise, and it can be frustrating to not achieve the results you desire. With nearly 8 million treatments performed in over 80 countries around the globe, CoolSculpting has emerged as the world’s number one non-invasive option for targeting stubborn fat that simply won’t budge. It’s safe and effective, and has more than 100 peer reviewed studies, which is more than any other fat reduction or body contouring technology available.

Plus, the newest CoolSculpting technology, CoolSculpting Elite, is now available at Renew Esthetics & Med Spa. CoolSculpting Elite uses the same method as traditional CoolSculpting to target stubborn fat, but the advanced applicator has been improved to cover more surface area and provide more dramatic results in less time. Just like CoolSculpting, the Elite technology is non-invasive and non-surgical which means little to no downtime so you can seamlessly get back to your normal daily routine. You can rest assured that CoolSculpting Elite is a safe and effective option to get the results you desire. Since 2010, CoolSculpting’s unique fat-freezing technology has racked up NINE clearances from the FDA so that means nearly any part of the body can be treated.

Freeze Your Fat Away at Renew

The technical name for CoolSculpting is Cryolipolysis, which we know is a mouthful, so let us break it down: cryo = icy cold and lipolysis = chemical decomposition of fat. So, cryolipolysis is a sciency-y way to say “fat freezing.” Scientists and doctors discovered that fat cells hate the cold and will freeze at a certain temperature, and thus the CoolSculpting technology was developed. By using precisely controlled cooling with our CoolSculpting Elite equipment, fat cells are frozen and then those dead, crystallized cells are naturally eliminated by the body, leaving a more contoured look in the targeted area. Other cells (such as nerve, skin, or muscle cells) aren’t harmed in the process, only those pesky fat cells! And there’s no needles, no anesthesia, no knives, no cutting, and little to no downtime unlike liposuction and other surgical options. Buh-bye fat cells, hello confidence!

What Areas of the Body Can CoolSculpting Reduce Fat On?

CoolSculpting can reduce visible fat bulges in the following areas: under the chin and under the jawline (goodbye double chin!), inner and outer thighs, distal thighs (knees), male pecs or chest, abdomen, and flank (those pesky love handles!); along with reduction in bra fat, back fat, underneath the buttocks (also known as banana roll), and upper arms. And truly, with the newest CoolSculpting Elite technology offered, the possibilities are endless! At Renew, we know first-hand how CoolSculpting can help all ranges of people reach their goals and gain confidence, including people who lead active, healthy lifestyles but simply need a little help to look and feel their best. So if you’re among the whopping 88% of men and women who are concerned about the extra fat on your body, let’s talk.

CoolSculpting at Renew Esthetics & Med Spa

Beware, though! Your CoolSculpting results can depend entirely on your provider choice, as all providers are not created equal! 70% of the outcome of any CoolSculpting session is actually dependent on the experience of the technician performing the treatment, placement of the applicator, and applicator choice. CoolSculpting may be non-invasive, but it still provides dramatic, lasting results for contouring your trouble spots, and your satisfaction will depend on your provider. At Renew Esthetics & Med Spa, we are committed to providing you with the best experience possible, and we can’t wait to help you love every view of you. Why CoolSculpting?

There’s no shortage of fat-reduction or body-contouring options available, but only one technology reigns as the world’s #1 non-invasive technology: CoolSculpting. Millions and millions of CoolSculpting treatments have been performed around the world on both men and women, and the fat-reducing results are undeniable. And with the updated CoolSculpting Elite technology offered at Renew Esthetics & Med Spa, men and women are seeing more dramatic results in less time than with our traditional CoolSculpting applicator.

There are truly countless reasons to choose CoolSculpting Elite, so here’s just a few worth highlighting.
  • CoolSculpting is non-invasive, which means little to no downtime. Unlike liposuction, CoolSculpting is non-surgical and non-invasive. That means no needles, no anesthesia, no cutting, and little to no recovery time. For many of Renew’s clients, their CoolSculpting sessions are actually like a relaxing trip to the spa, and many use the time to read, snooze, scroll their phones, or watch television. And afterward? Most clients are able to resume their normal activity immediately, and most people actually benefit from immediate and consistent exercise following their CoolSculpting treatment. Can you imagine going to the gym after going through surgery!? Never! But, CoolSculpting is so non-invasive, you can get right back into your routine.
  • Nearly any part of the body can be treated with CoolSculpting. If you’re among the 88% of people who have unwanted fat on some part of your body, CoolSculpting can provide the results you’re looking for. With nine clearances from the FDA, our CoolSculpting applicators can easily target your trouble spots that are resistant to diet and exercise. The areas of the body our clients most commonly want frozen include the abdomen, flanks (those love-handles), outer and inner thighs, upper arms, under the chin, back fat and the “bra-bulge,” and underneath the buttocks. Even cooler? The upgraded applicators on our new CoolSculpting Elite machines not only cool a larger treatment area, but each machine has two applicators which means we can freeze more of your fat at a time!
  • CoolSculpting delivers natural results, and you won’t be left with sagging skin. Many clients are worried about botched results and being left with excess, sagging skin following CoolSculpting because it’s a common side effect with liposuction, especially when too much fat is aggressively removed after cutting into the skin. This does not happen with CoolSculpting Elite. With non-surgical CoolSculpting, our applicators apply extremely cold temperatures externally, and then the fat cells are frozen and gradually expelled from the body. CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss treatment, and in fact, most clients are already within 5-40lbs of a healthy weight for their height, so CoolSculpting won’t deliver a dramatic drop on the scale but clients can expect to see about a 20% reduction in fat in the treated area, leaving a naturally more contoured look. Instead, the elimination of crystallized fat cells is a gradual process over the course of weeks which is why we take before and after photos for you to compare your results, and you can trust that you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the natural results CoolSculpting achieves. Want to achieve better and faster results? Opt for CoolSculpting Elite - you won’t regret it.

So, CoolSculpting or CoolSculpting Elite?

CoolSculpting has reigned as the world’s leading non-invasive and lasting fat-reduction and body-contouring option for over a decade. At Renew, we stand by the CoolSculpting technology and the results it delivers to our clients, but we are immensely proud to now offer the updated CoolSculpting Elite system- we are among a select few offices who had the opportunity to bring in the latest device right away. The new CoolSculpting Elite uses the same proven fat-freezing technology harnessed by scientists and doctors over a decade ago, but the updated applicator has been modified to make it even more effective. How is this possible? Is the freezing temperature even more freezing? Nope. Are treatment sessions shorter? Nope. Instead, CoolSculpting’s parent company, Allergen, completely redesigned the shape and size of the applicator head, allowing more tissue to be cooled and more evenly to amplify results. At Renew, what we’ve seen is our clients get a more significant reduction in the area(s) treated and in less time with the new CoolSculpting Elite system we are proud to have, but we stand by the proven technology of our traditional CoolSculpting applicators too! CoolSculpting FAQ

Questions about CoolSculpting & CoolSculpting Elite? We’ve got answers!

What’s the difference between CoolSculpting and CoolSculpting Elite?

As an elite Med Spa in Redmond, Oregon, we’ve been humbled to be trusted to freeze the fat off men and women with CoolSculpting for years and now Renew Esthetics & Med Spa is so excited to have the new CoolSculpting Elite system! The CoolSculpting and Elite systems both deliver lasting results for men and women looking for a safe option to achieve fat-reduction and body-contouring, and both technologies are FDA-cleared, non-invasive, non-surgical, and require little to no downtime. CoolSculpting Elite’s improved applicator is simply able to cover more surface area at once, which provides a more evenly controlled freezing effect to deliver quicker, more amplified results.

Am I a good candidate for CoolSculpting Elite?

Good candidates have noticeable fat bulges in certain areas they’d like to get rid of. However, not all fat is created equal - people have two distinct types of fat in their bodies: subcutaneous fat (the kind that may roll over the waistband of your pants) and visceral fat (the stuff that lines your organs and is associated with diabetes and heart disease). CoolSculpting works beautifully on subcutaneous fat, and the general rule of thumb of what makes someone a good candidate for targeting subcutaneous fat is if they are able to grab and pinch their fat. Regardless, if age, genetics, or a slew of other factors are impacting your ability to reshape or contour your body, and you want some help to look and feel your best, CoolSculpting can help. Request a one-on-one consultation with us to determine if CoolSculpting is the right option for you.

How much does CoolSculpting Elite cost?

The price for CoolSculpting procedures varies depending on your areas of concern, the number of sessions needed, and your ultimate goals. We will help create a customized treatment plan, in person, that’s tailored to your body, your goals, and your budget. Plus, we do have financing options.

How long is each session?

We will help you create an individualized treatment plan tailored to your specific goals. The length of your CoolSculpting session will vary depending on the number of areas being treated during one visit. An actual CoolSculpting procedure can be completed in as few as 35 minutes, but if you are treating more than one area, the appointment time will obviously be longer, but we also have multiple applicators that can work on multiple areas of the body at the same time.

How many CoolSculpting Elite sessions will I need?

The number of sessions you need will depend entirely on your needs and goals, and you can always count on us to be honest about your expectations. One of the coolest things about both CoolSculpting and CoolSculpting Elite is that you can definitely get more dramatic results when you do more sessions! You may truly only need one session to get the results you want, especially if you have just a small amount of stubborn fat. However, if you have slightly more fat on your body or a larger area to treat, you may need multiple treatments. Each treatment will be performed 4-6 weeks apart and while there’s no limit as to how many treatments a client can undergo, it’s important to maintain realistic expectations and to trust the process. Your treatment plan will always be tailored to your goals and will be clear from the beginning so it’ll be clear what you can expect to get the results you want!

Where does the fat go? Are the results lasting?

Once the treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), they’re attacked by white blood cells, which convert them to triglycerides which are then metabolized by your liver and expelled out of the body through the lymphatic system after a few weeks to a few months. Once the treated fat cells are gone, they’re gone for good.

What does a CoolSculpting Elite treatment feel like?

During your CoolSculpting session, a controlled applicator will be placed on the area of stubborn fat you want to target, and as the applicator adheres to the body, there is slight sucking sensation, followed by the signature cooling effect. Anesthesia is not necessary, but you may experience sensations of tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling or cramping; however, these sensations quickly subside as the area becomes numb. Your certified CoolSculpting technician will then massage the treated area following the procedure to reduce side effects and increase the fat-freezing process. Many people read, watch videos, work on their laptop, or even take a nap during their treatment.

What parts of the body can CoolSculpting Elite treat?

Nearly any part of the body! Truly! We’ve frozen fat off countless clients, and these are the areas we treat: under the chin and under the jawline (goodbye double chin!), inner and outer thighs, distal thighs (knees), male pecs or chest, abdomen, and flank (those pesky love handles!); along with reduction in bra fat, back fat, underneath the buttocks (also known as banana roll), and upper arms.

Is CoolSculpting Elite procedure safe?

Yes, it’s safe. The CoolSculpting technology (including the new Elite system) now has nine FDA-clearances, over 100 peer reviewed studies, and treatments have been performed over 8 million times around the world in 80 countries. CoolSculpting is non-invasive, so there aren’t the same risky side effects that can occur with invasive, surgical options like liposuction. Scheduling a CoolSculpting treatment at Renew is a great way to lose fat in a medically secure and advanced environment; our team has the experience and expertise necessary to make you feel comfortable and confident that you’re getting the best treatment possible.

Are there any side effects?

During the procedure you may experience deep pulling, tugging, pinching, numbness or discomfort, but those sensations quickly dissipate once the area fully numbs to the cold. Following the procedure, some rare side effects include temporary numbness, itching, redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging and pain. Side effects can depend on what area of the body was treated; the most vulnerable area typically being the abdomen. In fact, patients actually benefit from immediate and consistent light exercise following treatment! The CoolSculpting procedure is not for everyone. You should not have the CoolSculpting procedure if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia, paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria, cold agglutinin disease, raynaud’s disease, chilblains, reduced circulation or nerve conditions. It’s important to be open and honest with your Renew team about your medical history!

Can I return to normal activities after my treatment?

Yes, you can. CoolSculpting is completely non-surgical, so typically you can return to normal activities immediately. Often, patients return to work after their CoolSculpting session is over and some patients actually benefit from immediate and consistent light exercise following treatment!

When will I see results?

Like we tell everyone - it depends! There’s no definitive, one-size-fits-all answer we can give! Every client is unique, and every body is unique, and your results timeline will depend. However most of our clients start to see changes 4 weeks after their CoolSculpting Elite treatment. Full results can take up to 5 months! CoolSculpting is an amazing fat-reducing technology that can help you target your trouble spots, but it’s NOT an overnight weight-loss solution or a weight-loss solution at all. It gets rid of stubborn fat beautifully but you won’t see the scale change.. We would love to answer your questions and assess your goals via a consult. You may start to see changes as quickly as four weeks after your treatment and will experience the most dramatic results after 4 months (remember some people take up to 5 months). Your body can still flush out fat cells and continues doing so for up to four to six months after treatment.

Do CoolSculpting Elite results last?

We love this question! We believe in this technology because we know it’s backed by science and we SEE the results in our happy clients day in and day out! The fat cells we kill with our CoolSculpting Elite applicators will be gone for good once your body flushes them out. However, not ALL fat cells are killed, so if you don’t do your part and you gain weight following treatment, the remaining fat cells will happily expand and prevent you from loving your results.

How can I maximize my CoolSculpting Elite results?

Most of our clients are already committed to a healthy lifestyle, and it’s important to continue to maintain that commitment following CoolSculpting. The investment you make into yourself with CoolSculpting is best protected when you maintain your weight and follow our post-treatment instructions which include avoiding anti-inflammatory medications and massing the treated area consistently.

Why should I choose CoolSculpting Elite instead of liposuction?

It’s important to research your options when it comes to getting the results you want. Both liposuction and CoolSculpting Elite will provide lasting fat-reduction, and both can dramatically improve your self-confidence. The biggest difference between surgical options like liposuction and CoolSculpting is the invasiveness - while most people hate their fat and want to get rid of it to contour their shape, few are willing to go under the knife or experience the risky side-effects that often come with liposuction. Liposuction requires cutting into the skin in the treatment area, breaking up the unwanted fat, and then suctioning it out through a hollow tube to create new contours. There are many different methods of liposuction, but each technique involves basically the same surgical process. Like any surgery, liposuction can have drastic side effects, such as negative reactions to anesthesia, infection, internal puncture, blood clots, or other serious complications. Plus, pain, swelling, and bruising are common for weeks following liposuction, and a patient will need to schedule time off work and wait for at least a few weeks before resuming exercise or strenuous activity. The complications and significant downtime from plastic surgery don’t seem worth the risk when CoolSculpting is much safer and yields similar results of creating a more contoured look to the body!
